We are looking for a highly motivated Researcher in the field of power semiconductors. In particular, in the area of wide bandgap semiconductors and next-generation packaging technologies. As a recent graduate with a strong background in semiconductors, your academic background and communication skills enable you to fluently discuss and exchange your ideas and publish new findings in scientific journals. Ideally, you are already familiar with design and process simulations, and you understand the processes in a semiconductor factory. Your research lays the foundation for the next generation of power semiconductor products, and you collaborate deeply with partners from both industry and academia. The position is located in HongKong (China SAR)

• You will act as Researcher Power Semiconductors and be responsible for establishing the corporate research of SwissSEM Technologies in Hong Kong.
• Define and execute research projects in the field of power semiconductors, especially regarding silicon carbide (SiC) or gallium nitride (GaN), as well as packaging technologies such as embedding.
• Support the operation and quality teams with maintenance of the existing portfolio, help with the implementation of engineering changes, specification reviews and technical issues in production or at the customer.
• Apply for research funding programs and calls, use the local network to collaborate with universities and industry.
• Generate IP from your research, and present key findings at international conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
• This position can include hands-on work in the cleanroom and in the lab.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to consolidate customer requirements, technical feasibility and manufacturing constraints into a comprehensive target definition for new developments.

• A PhD in Physics or Engineering from a top 100 QS ranked university is a must for this position.
• Beyond that, you have a track record with research projects in semiconductors, ideally related to power semiconductors, power electronics or packaging.
• You are an experienced project manager with a strong skill set in technical reporting, risk mitigation, and schedule optimization.
• As a strong self-driven team player, you convince us with your passion and dedication to improve power semiconductor chip technology
• Industry experience in power semiconductors or power electronics is a plus.
• You are fluent in English.
• Mandarin is a plus
